Governing Body at Bethel and their daily routine

i never had the privilege to serve at bethel .. therefore, community help is greatly appreciated friends.. do the gb members have their own living quarters separate from the average jw?.

does their "busy" schedule permit field service, if yes, how many hours a month?.

how long are their weekly wednesday meetings?.

separate quarters? No. In Brooklyn they lived in the same buildings as everyone else. They did get some of the nicer rooms though.

field service? They're expected to meet the publisher average as are all bethelites. basically they are 'supposed' to go out every saturday with their congregation. the infirm ones are sort of exempt from this but they still go out a little. i knew a brother whose job was to take one of them out in service which was driving him around to a few RVs

-wednesday meeting? No idea but I figure it takes up most of the work day

-special privileges? They can pretty do whatever they want. However in their congregations they serve as regular elders

Could a JW be DF for celebrating Festivus?

after all, it's a secular holiday not a religious holiday.. if i was still an active member, i think i would start a new tradition of celebrating festivus.

most likely no jws would come, but that's okay, it's a famiily holiday anyway.. what grounds would the elders have to disfellowship you?.

Never heard of it? Roku boxes have been around for a long time and are by a far margin the best selling internet box thing for TVs. It's free to make a channel for it so that's why tv.jw.org uses it.

Are Today's Elders The Same As The Elders of the Last Century?

i was 24 when i was first appointed as an elder.

i very much respected the old timers, the elders that were basically good guys, family men and who tried to be good examples, although they knew they were far from perfect.

i haven't been to a meeting in about a decade and i wonder if the elders of today are that much different than those of yesteryear.

well given how few men are reaching out to become an elder, the dudes from 10 years ago are still the bulk of the elder body today.

this is an unofficial survey.. was curious as to the number of currently serving elders who were born-in and/or raised as jw versus those who were "recruited"( i.e, not born in or raised as jw.).

for instance, right now in the hall i am assigned to:.

2 elders were born-in and/or raised as jws.. 5 were not (recruited as adults).

Anthony Morris - AP's in August, 900%, increase, yet decrease in BS's

the only video that i've found of tomo is 39:00 minutes long - the ending is missing.. various posts mentioned highlights of the tremendous witness in august, with a 900% increase in ap's, as well as some other magnificent accomplishment that i cannot locate.. then i painfully listened to the video to verify, and at about 38:00, tomo bemoans the downward trend in bible studies.. the best august of all-time, yet downward trend.. looks like the toilet bowl is swirling.. .

The hour requirement is so low, it's no wonder the average JW aux. pioneers in the summer. the lack of studies is pretty easy to explain.

the ministry now consists of tract campaigns. there's like 3 a year now at the very least. there's carts which is just handing out lit and taking the person's information if they want more. JWs are encouraged to play videos to people. again, no real teaching. and now a JW can send a text message as an RV. again, no teaching.

gee i wonder why there's no bible studies.

yeah you're right. there's a lot of straight up crazy people on here with bizarre conspiracy theories and others who straight up lie to grind whatever axe they gotta grind.
